Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation Architecture

Agentic AI & Intelligent Automation Architecture

A global services operator needed to move beyond scripted automation to governed agentic workflows, without uncontrolled tool use or audit gaps. XONIK designed an orchestration architecture with planner-executor separation, schema-bound tools, and human escalation on low-confidence paths.

RPA handled stable steps; complex cases still required senior operators and carried compliance risk when bots improvised. Multiple SaaS APIs lacked unified identity and logging. Incidents were hard to reconstruct for regulators. Success was measured on final messages, not whether the right tools ran in the right order with correct data classes. Early agent pilots multiplied token and API calls without caps: finance could not forecast unit economics. Production workflows now run with audit trails, regression suites, and finance-visible cost per successful case.

Outcomes

  • Throughput: Straight-through processing increased on targeted intents while exceptions route to named queues with context preserved.
  • Control: Kill switches, step limits, and policy filters block disallowed actions before execution, not after customer impact.
